Sometimes, for various reasons, you may notice that energy data is missing in Surple.
It's unlikely that data collected from mains meters will be missing because we usually collect it directly from your data collector or energy supplier. If you have sub-meters connected to Surple, they can have outage periods, which is most likely where you will see missing data.
Surple has a process for handling missing data. If there is data missing for less than six hours, we linearly interpolate it. If there is missing data for longer than six hours, we do nothing as interpolating over this time would be too inaccurate. In this event, we will contact the data provider in an attempt to collect it.
Bars on the energy charts will appear grey if missing data points are present. Sometimes a bar will appear more transparent. A transparent bar indicates that we have linearly interpolated your data.
